Brian K. Carroll
Attorney, Arbitrator, Mediator
Brian is an ADR professional with construction in his blood. His grandfather was an army engineer in WWII and Korea who built supply pipelines in combat zones and taught at the Army Engineering School. His father was an owner rep/project manager on military construction throughout the western US and pacific rim. Brian was born in Colorado and lived in four states before high school as his father moved from Project to Project. Literally, he grew up in construction. Brian graudated high school and earned his Eagle Scout in Lampasas, Texas.
Following that path, Brian attended the University of Texas at Austin on a Terry Foundation scholarship where he earned a BS in Architectural Engineering. During that timeframe he spent four summers with the Texas Department of Transportation performing surveying, construction inspection and design work. Upon graduation he accepted a position as a graduate civil engineer working on schematic design and PS&E for various projects around Texas, including the major tollroad projects in Austin. As a result, he has extensive background in geometrics, hydrology, hydraulics and all aspects of heavy civil design.
Upon receiving an opportunity to attend law school at Baylor, he completed a JD with a concentration in business transactions and immediately joined a construction law firm upon graduation in 2002. In 2007, Brian and his law partner left another construction boutique firm and founded the construction law firm of Sanderford & Carroll, PC. Brian has focused his legal knowledge on serving the construction industry where he represented all manner of prime contractors, subcontractors and suppliers with a focus on heavy civil prime contractors and vertical subcontractors. Until COVID, litigation was Brian’s primary focus. After COVID, his practice has shifted to a primary focus on ADR service while continuing to serve as managing partner for Sanderford & Carroll, PC.
